Color-Filled American Swedish Historical Museum Wedding | Amy and Jackson

Some wedding days just feel charmed from the moment they start — and Amy and Jackson’s was exactly that kind of day.

Low 70s, a perfect light breeze, sunshine that didn’t dare overdo it… the kind of weather every couple dreams of but rarely gets. And honestly? The vibe matched the forecast. These two are some of the sweetest, most laid-back humans, and watching their vision unfold at the American Swedish Historical Museum was a true joy. Guests got to explore the museum during cocktail hour, the florals were bursting with color in the best Garden-Party-Meets-Art-Museum way, and the energy never dipped once.

Narrowing down images for this post was nearly impossibleEmily Palm absolutely delivered — so prepare yourself for a scroll. There were simply too many moments, textures, colors, and tiny details that deserved a spot here. (I regret nothing.)

And speaking of details: We Are Wildflowers created florals that can only be described as joyful, painterly, and outrageously beautiful. Between the soft peaches, bold blues, and warm golden tones, the arrangements brought the entire space to life and tied together every part of the celebration, from the ceremony lawn to the glowing tented reception.

Amy and Jackson navigated planning with such clarity. They didn’t agonize over decisions, they trusted the vision, and they trusted their vendor team — which meant their wedding day unfolded exactly how it should: relaxed, intentional, and full of laughter.

And yes… Jackson’s custom suit jacket lined with photos of him and Amy absolutely stole the show. He showed it off to everyone, and honestly, iconic behavior.

Getting Ready at Lokal Old City

Amy spent the morning tucked away at Lokal Old City with her Mom and Sister. The vibe was calm, happy, and exactly how a wedding morning should feel. Meanwhile, Jackson was getting ready just a few blocks away at Marriott Old City — and counting down until he could reveal that jacket.

First Look and Couple Portraits

Amy and Jackson chose to do their First Look right inside the room at Lokal, and it was the sweetest mix of quiet and giddy — that kind of “oh my gosh, it’s happening” energy that never gets old.

After that, they stepped outside and wandered around the neighborhood for portraits that were anything but stiff. Colorful backdrops, playful movement, lots of laughter, and the two of them just being their wonderfully easygoing selves. Nothing overly posey, nothing forced — just pure joy captured in real time.

From there, they made their way to the American Swedish Historical Museum where they continued portraits inside before guests arrived. The museum’s architecture and galleries gave them this uniquely artful backdrop, with rooms that are bright and airy and others that are darker and full of historic character.

Ceremony on the East Terrace Lawn

With a string quartet from Vivace Live playing and the sun just starting to set behind the trees, Amy and Jackson exchanged vows on the East Terrace Lawn. Guests sipped welcome drinks, the florals framed the aisle and altar beautifully, and every part of the ceremony felt heartfelt and personal — from family readings to their joy-filled recessional.

Cocktail Hour & Museum Exploration

One of my favorite parts of this venue? Guests got to explore the museum during cocktail hour. Between the grazing stations (by Jeffrey A. Miller Catering), lavender lemonade, string quartet, and hidden corners of the museum, it was the perfect mix of curated and fun.

Reception in the Tent

The reception tent was glowing — literally. Warm lighting, royal blue napkins, and centerpieces packed with color created the perfect backdrop for a night full of dancing. Introductions kicked off the party, followed by a first dance that had everyone smiling. After a some heartfelt toasts, a delicious dinner, the cake was cut and the couple shared a dance with their parents. Once the dance floor opened, guests did not hold back.

Cake, Dancing, and All the Joy

From low-key cake cutting to parent dances to their late-night pretzels and ROVING CANNOLI (!!!!!!), the second half of the night was pure celebration. When I say this group filled that dance floor until the very last song… I mean filled it.

Amy and Jackson, it was such a privilege to be part of your day. Thank you for the trust, the laughs, and the chance to witness your celebration up close.

Working with Danielle completely changed our wedding experience.

She helped us bring our vision to life when we were feeling overwhelmed and a bit lost in the planning process.

We were able to relax and fully enjoy our day knowing that she was behind the scenes to keep everything on track and ensure that the day was everything that we planned for.
