Rainy, Fall Wedding at the Horticulture Center at Fairmount Park

If you’ve already skipped ahead and scrolled to see some of these pictures, I know what you’re thinking… “Uhm, this certainly doesn’t look like it was raining?!”

Well, my friend, it absolutely was. Granted, not a downpour, but for most of Jen and Matt’s wedding day on October 1, 2022, Mother Nature was providing a steady drizzle. Mind you, this made the entire Horticulture Center at Fairmount Park look so green and lush. And provided a stunning “rain plan” for what was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony.

But the true rock stars were this amazing couple, their photographers (Asya and Georgi from Asya Photography), and the couple’s group of VIPs. They fearlessly braved the rain for photos and the result…. well, I’ll let you be the judge.

The day started with everyone getting ready at one of my favorite Philly hotels, Marriott Old City. (Seriously, this hotel is GREAT for getting ready photos, guest room blocks, and transportation in and out is a breeze.)

The team at True Beauty Marks was on-site doing hair and makeup, helping everyone look picture perfect.

The couple traveled separately to The Hort to do their First Looks, portraits, wedding party photos, and a good bit of their family photos. This venue provides so many beautiful backdrops — you really can’t go wrong. And clearly, you can’t even tell that it’s drizzling thanks to some tree covering.

The women in the wedding party all looked stunning in their eggplant dresses, and I think everyone looks GREAT in a tux. So this group was *chef’s kiss*.

Just before the ceremony, the couple sat with their family, close friends, and Rabbi to sign their Ketubah, the Jewish marriage certificate. From there, it was prominently displayed throughout their entire ceremony under the chuppah.

Due to the rain, the call was made to move the ceremony inside. Honestly, I think the indoor location is prettier than the original outdoor location. And even though you’re in a greenhouse, everyone felt comfortable and dry.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails, appetizers, and some live music from some musicians from the couple’s band, Dreamtime.

What felt like a truly beautiful space once everything was setup, only became more stunning as the sun went down and the entire room began to glow. Robertsons did a wonderful job of filling the space with flowers and making everything feel cohesive and elegant.

I feel like we need a giant APPLAUSE for this lovely cake from Nutmeg Cake Design. The varying layers made a simple design unique and the gold foil added the perfect touch.

Of course, a great party wouldn’t be complete without some dancing. It was such a pleasure to watch the couple and their guests kick up their heels and ENJOY themselves. (And who wouldn’t want to on this sexy black and white checkered dance floor, am I right?)

Mazel Tov, Jen and Matt! And thank you for allowing us to share in your wedding celebrations. It was an honor and a pleasure!

“I don't know how we could have pulled off our wedding without Danielle! She is so thorough, detailed, and responsive, and she thinks of things you never would have considered… I would have been 10x more stressed on my wedding day if it wasn't for her.
