Vibrant, Sun-Kissed Portico Awbury Arboretum Wedding | Siobhan and Sean

In the heart of September, where every other weekend seemed to succumb to rain, Siobhan and Sean defied the odds with a sun-soaked celebration at the picturesque Portico Awbury Arboretum.

What unfolded on that perfectly sunny day was nothing short of magical — and incredibly fitting for this beautiful couple.

When it came to capturing every important moment, the couple knew they needed someone extraordinary behind the lens. Enter Brittney Raine, a wildly talented photographer who crossed coasts from LA to Philly to weave her magic into every frame.

Portico Awbury Arboretum Getting Ready Suite

The Getting Ready suites at Portico Awbury Arboretum, particularly in the upstairs area, serves as a perfect spot for hair and makeup. It’s bright with plenty of natural light, mirrors and comfy places to sit. Two of my favorite teams for hair and makeup, Marissa Grace Artistry and Shimmer and Spice, worked together to make this already stunning group shine.

And I will always be a sucker for a heartfelt First Look moment with a parent. Siobhan and Sean’s families and loved ones were absolute sweethearts and it became no wonder why this couple have such big hearts.

First Looks and Private Vows in the Garden

Opting to exchange their vows privately — something I LOVE and find to be a great option for a couple who wants to share their words of promises with their partner without all eyes on them — Siobhan and Sean chose the lush garden area to do their First Looks and share a heartfelt moment together.

Floral Genius by RAM Floral

Nature's canvas at Portico Awbury Arboretum is already a masterpiece, but RAM Floral elevated it to new heights with their stunning florals. Every bloom, every petal seemed to tell a vibrant story, mirroring Siobhan and Sean's journey. RAM Floral's artistic touch enhanced the venue into such a colorful world.

Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony at Portico Awbury Arboretum

While there’s a few places to have a ceremony at Portico, the couple chose the front lawn area. The lush greenery and trees served as an incredible backdrop. By the late afternoon, this area was also comfortably shady — which is always a plus in my book.

As guests started to gather, final preparations were made, and the wedding party gathered for a final “hands in” before walking down the aisle.

Cocktail Hour in the Garden

Following the I Do’s, guests moved seamlessly to the garden and patio areas. Peachtree Catering, the exclusive caterer at Portico Awbury Arboretum, showcased an expertise in crafting a menu that not only satisfied the palate but also complemented the day's vibrant energy.

Dancing and Dessert in the Francis Cope House

After dinner and some hilarious toasts in the tent, guests made their way inside the Francis Cope House parlor for dancing, fun in the photo booth from Majestic, and all the delicious sweets and treats.

Whipped Bakeshop (one of the best Philly wedding bakeries) made the couple’s cake which included a lemon thyme layer with lemon curd and a vanilla layer with strawberry preserves and vanilla cookie crunch — DELICIOUS.

The side garden of the house is one of my favorite areas of this wedding venue. During the day, it feels charming, comfortable, and private. In the evening, the lights are just MAGIC and elevate it to another level. The additional area allows for guests to get their drinks away from the dance floor, and chat outside if they wish.

Siobhan and Sean, you are an incredible and unforgettable duo. Selfishly, I’m so thankful you opted for a long engagement because it meant we were able to work together for over two years. Still, somehow, it went by in a blink. Thank you for including me in your day and I can’t wait to see what magic you make in the future.
